Dear Friends:
I offer my sincerest best wishes to all of you on the celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year. This momentous day will offer everyone the chance to explore their Chinese heritage and also to open their hearts and minds to the occasion of a new year filled with unending promise.
February 18th begins the 2007 Chinese New Year representing the “ Year of the Boar”. People associated with the boar are said to be honest, straightforward, and patient. It is my hope that each and every one of you can be touched in some way by these excellent virtues during the course the year. Strive to attain your highest goals and continue to demonstrate your peaceful and trustworthy qualities toward all those in your daily lives.
The Chinese New Year signifies the most sacred holiday on the Chinese calendar and is known for its extraordinary celebrations around the globe. This year's event in Chicago, the 2007 Chinese New Year Spectacular, will be no different as the best of traditional Chinese song and dance will be performed. I look forward to this event as a chance to display important aspects of the Chinese traditions to many different cultures throughout the world.
My very best wishes to all of you in a great New Year.
Sincerely,
Ira I. Silverstein
